STATE Bags was founded by husband-and-wife team Scot and Jacq Tatelman with a simple idea: create great bags while helping kids and families in need.

Before STATE, Scot and Jacq founded Country Roads Foundation, a nonprofit serving children in underfunded communities.

Why STATE Started

After seeing children carrying their belongings in ripped trash bags, Scot and Jacq wanted to do more.

STATE was created to provide stylish, functional bags while using business as a way to give back.

More Than a Bag

Today, STATE creates backpacks, totes, luggage, duffle bags and accessories for kids, teens and adults.

But the bag is only the beginning.

For every STATE bag purchased, the company supports American children and families in need through donations, partnerships and community programs.
